Quentin W. “Q.W.†Barrett, 89, of Dayton, went to be with his Lord and savior, Saturday, January 11, 2014, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Mr. Barrett was born September 6, 1924 in Cooper, Texas to parents Luther Lee and Mary M. Haddock Barrett and has resided in Dayton for the past 59 years. He was a veteran of the US Navy with service during WW II, a retired maintenance supervisor from the Cedar Bayou Gulf Plant. He also was a former dispatcher for the Dayton PD and member of the Old River Masonic Lodge. Quentin also enjoyed watching sports, listening to music, reading his newspaper, and most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren. Mr. Barrett was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 51 years: Billie Jo Paddy Barrett, daughter: Alica Kay Barrett Davis, and brothers: Luther H. Barrett, Delbert B. Barrett, and Leon C. Barrett. He is survived by his sons: David Barrett and wife Pam of Conroe and Audie Lee Barrett and wife Dorothy of CO, daughters: JoAnn Gajdosik and husband Kenny of Dayton and Carol Barrett of Dayton, grandchildren: Melissa Bullard, Tara Duncan, Mary Keleshian, Davy Barrett, Steven Cash, Chris Cash, Michael Davis, Matt Davis, and Marcus Davis, numerous great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
