PEEBLES Poppy Leah Peebles, age 84, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011. She was born March 23, 1927 in Newquay Cornwall, England to parents Alexandar Victor and Edith Millard who preceded her in death along with her sister, Violet Millard; and her brother, Ron Hoblyn. She married the late Dick Peebles in 1946 and the couple moved and resided in the Houston area. She became a proud United States Citizen in 1952. Her greatest joy was her family; she adored them whole heartedly. She was a homemaker, a member of the First United Methodist Church; she was active in the Senior Circle; and enjoyed doing needlework, writing poetry, and collecting teapots. Poppy was blessed with grace, beauty and strength. She will be greatly missed and will remain in the hearts of all those who loved and cherished her. She will be remembered lovingly by her daughter, Valerie Owsijuk and husband, Attmar “Art” Owsijuk; grandchildren, John Owsijuk, Elizabeth Schwarzbach; great-grandchild, Samantha Schwarzbach; nephew, Ron Hoblyn Jr.; niece, Marion Fromant; and many faithful friends. Visitation will be held Monday, December 6, 2011, 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Rev. Bobbie Maltas will preside over funeral services being held Tuesday, December 6, 2011, 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Cleveland, Texas with interment following at Cleveland Memorial Park Cemetery.
