Opal Janice Alexander

Opal Janice Beckham Alexander, 80, of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at the Liberty-Dayton Community Hospital in Liberty.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 30, 2016, at the Kenefick Southern Baptist Church with burial following at French Cemetery in Dayton. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Opal was born November 2, 1935 in Navasota, to parents; William Cody Beckham and Callie Mae Willison, and has been a lifelong resident of Dayton. She was a member of the Kenefick Southern Baptist Church and the Kenefick Activity Club. She also enjoyed reading her Bible, taking walks, and working puzzles.

Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her father: William Cody Beckham, mother: Callie Mae Willison Beckham Griffin, husband: Robert Lee Alexander, brothers: Leon Beckham and Tommy Lynn Beckham, and sisters: Bessie Beckham and Billie Ruth McDonal. She is survived by her daughters: Connie Malone and husband David of Liberty and Mary Pittman and husband Bill of Beaumont, brother: Donald Ray Beckham of White Hall, sisters: Vera Estelle Renfro of Willis and Sybil Jo Eubank of College Station, grandchildren: William Don Bennett and wife Crystal, Joseph Paul Bennett and wife Danielle, and Kristin Nicole Barnett and husband Brody, great-grandchildren: Ethan Lee Bennett, Madelyn Bennett, William Bennett, Gwendolyn Nicole Bennett, Joshua Bennett, Matthew Bennett, Beau Alexander Barnett, and Reese Nicole Barnett, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
