Norva “Faye” Cowen, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and cherished friend, walked through the pearly gates on November 10, 2024, at the age of 87. She was born on August 18, 1937, and lived a life filled with love, faith, and family.
Faye was married to her devoted husband, Bobby “Bob” Cowen, for an extraordinary 67 ½ years. Their commitment to each other created a beautiful foundation for their family, which Faye held immensely dear to her heart. Bob preceded her in death, leaving behind a legacy of love that Faye carried with her.
As a mother, Faye embraced her role wholeheartedly, nurturing and guiding her five beloved children: Sheryl (spouse Richard), Donna (spouse Brett), Diane (spouse Eric), Monte “Tiger” (spouse JJ), and Barry (spouse Kristi). Her love was a constant source of strength for them, and her wisdom and kindness will continue to inspire them always.
Even from a young age, Faye was a devoted follower of Christ, and her faith was the cornerstone of her life. She found comfort and joy in her relationship with Jesus, a guiding light through both life’s challenges and milestones. Faye’s spirit shone through in all she did, touching the lives of those around her with grace and warmth.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Zetha Izora (Threadgill) Davis, and her father, Hollie Ray Davis Sr., both of whom played an integral role in shaping her nurturing heart. Faye was the second of four siblings and is survived by her youngest brother, Lew Davis, while her other siblings preceded her in death.
Faye Cowen leaves behind a rich legacy of love and devotion that will be remembered by all who had the privilege to know her. She was an extraordinary woman of quiet strength whose impact resonates in the lives of her children and their families, a true matriarch whose faith-powered journey will forever be celebrated.
The family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Faye’s life and legacy on Saturday, November 16, 2024. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. at Dayton First Assembly of God (2829 FM 1960) with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079 at 4:00 p.m. Arrangements are by Pace Stancil Funeral Home.
