Nolen R. Jones

Nolen R. Jones, 80, of Mt. Belvieu, died Friday, November 14, 2014, at the St. James House in Baytown.Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at the Oakdale Cemetery in Daisetta. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.Nolen was born August 1, 1934 in Tyler, to parents; Nolen R., Sr. and Ethel M. Starnes Jones, and has resided in the Mt. Belvieu/Liberty area for the past 47 years. He was a graduate of Homer High School in Louisiana, a veteran of the US Navy with service during Korea aboard USS Saint Paul (CA-73), a life member of the Nolan D. Pickett VFW Post #5621, and a retired supervisor from Champion Paper Mill. He also enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing.Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 54 years: Wilma Taylor Jones, sons: Barry K. Jones and Kenneth Jones, and grandson: Casey Jones. He is survived by his daughter: Karen Wilkins of Mt. Belvieu, son: Kyle Jones and wife Gayle of Tennessee, daughter-in-law: Linda Jones of Old River, sister: Betty Johnson of Alabama, grandchildren: Travis Jones, Becki Wilkins, Jordan Jones, and Lauren Jones, great-grandson: Carter Cox, and numerous other relatives, and friends.Leave your thoughts and memories for the family in the guestbook at www.pacestancil.com.
