Nolen Pope Coleman

Nolen Pope Coleman, 83, of Conroe, passed away Monday, December 21, 2015, at the Elmcroft Senior Center in Conroe.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 26, 2015, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Garden Park Cemetery in Conroe. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, prior to services. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland.Nolen was born April 5, 1932 in Athens, to parents; Charles and Helen Hopkins Coleman, a former resident of Cleveland, and has resided in Conroe for the past three years. He was a graduate of the Athens High School, attended Sam Houston State, and received his Associate from the North Harris County Community College. Nolen served his country in the Army National Guard and Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the Dolen Baptist Church, the American Legion, and was a retired bookkeeper. He also enjoyed fishing, metal detecting, and especially spending time with his family.Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 49 years and mother of his children: Mary Lesley Coleman, second wife: Dottie Gibson Coleman, daughter: Brenda Oliver, and sons-in-law: Rayford Morrow, Sr. and Ernest Oliver, Sr., and grandson: Eddie Oliver. He is survived by his children: Barbara Morrow of Conroe, Mike Coleman and wife Gayle of Spring, and Debbie Grisham and husband Tom of Huntsville, brother: John Coleman of Pennsylvania, grandchildren: Rayford Morrow, Jr., Ernest Oliver, Jr., Tabatha Phillips, Rachel Freestrom, Michelle Coleman, Rebekah Atkinson, James Coker, Lisa Namken, Trisha McCaffety, and Tiffany Grisham, 23 great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.Leave your thoughts and memories for the family I the guestbook at www.pacestancil.comPACE-STANCIL FUNERAL HOME303 E.
