Nola "Noella" Gilley

Nola E. “Noella” Bartlett Gilley, 92, of Tarkington Prairie, died Thursday, August 25, 2011, at the Liberty Healthcare Center in Liberty. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 28, 2011, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Ryan Cemetery in Tarkington Prairie. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Nola was born May 16, 1919, in Goose Creek, to parents; Gather and Myrtle Mae Lusk Bartlett, and has resided in the Tarkington area throughout her life. She was a graduate of the Hull-Daisetta High School, a retired LVN, a member of the Simmons Bottom Assembly of God Church, and enjoyed sewing, cooking, and flower gardening, Becoming a nurse was her dream and she achieved that dream when her children were grown. She was known and will be remembered for her loving ways and hospitality. Mrs. Gilley was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 63 years: William Francis Gilley, son: Wilson Cleon Gilley, brothers: James and N.D. Bartlett, and sisters: Wynema, Mamie, Lula, and Willie. She is survived by her daughter: Frances E. Green Crocker and husband George of Dayton, son: Wendell Delayne Gilley and wife Debbie of Huntsville, daughter-in-law: Pixie Gilley of Robert Lee, grandchildren: James and John Green, Wendy, Wyatt, Layne, Seth, and Taisa Gilley, ten great-grandchildren, nine great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, her church family, and friends.
