Nell Wiggins

June 30, 1934 — November 9, 2023

Nell Wiggins was given the gift of life on June 30, 1934, and entered into eternal peace on November 9, 2023 after a long and fulfilling life.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 2 p.m. in the Pace-Stancil Chapel, 303 E. Crockett Street in Cleveland, Texas.  Burial, for family only, will follow in the Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens Cemetery at 12911 FM 2025 in Cleveland.

Nell was born in McCaskill, Arkansas to Andy and Martha Folsom, the thirteenth child of fourteen.   After graduating from high school, she moved from Arkansas to Houston, Texas where she later married Darrell Wiggins and they were blessed with three children.  She was a member of the Methodist Church.

A consummate mother and homemaker, Nell was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends.  She also canned hundreds of jars of jam, jelly, pickles, and vegetables during her lifetime.  Homemade pies were her specialty with pound cakes running a close second!   Nell also loved working in her yard and garden.  She had several different jobs during her life, but enjoyed being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother most of all.  Nell especially loved being able to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, the father of her children, Darrell Wiggins, and grandson-in-law, Jonathan Ott.

To cherish her memory, Nell leaves son and daughter-in-law, Kerry and Cassandra Wiggins;  daughter and son-in-law, Darla and Mike Martin; daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Keith Kietlinski; grandchildren, Damien Martin, Wyatt Martin, Meredith and Drake McCrary, Leslie Ott, Kiel and Rebecca Kietlinski, Alyson Falk, as well as great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Heidi and Jon Henry Ott.  She also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends behind.

Serving as pallbearers are Kerry Wiggins, Wyatt Martin, Keith Kietlinski, Damien Martin, Kiel Kietlinski and Drake McCrary.

Services for Nell Wiggins are entrusted to Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, 303 E. Crockett Street, Cleveland, Texas.  If desired, at Nell’s request, please make a donation to the charity of your choice, in lieu of flowers.
