Myrtle Ruth Emmons (Warren), age 91 and a former resident of the Porter and Cleveland area, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018. She was born February 16, 1927 in Humble, Texas to parents John and Mary Sallas who preceded her in death along with her husbands, Vaughn Emmons, Jr. and Cliff Warren; son, Carl Vaughn Emmons, III.; brother, Albert Sallas; and sisters, Johnnie Marie Cook, Evelyn Lucille Barringer and Helen Irene Splettstosser.
Survivors include her daughters, Jerry Lynn Emmons, Susan Jackson and Marlene Emmons Otwell; step-son, David Warren and wife Mary; step-daughter, Janet Williams and husband Glen; nephews, Therlyn Cook and wife Susan, Doug Cook and wife Sherry, Lyndon Roy Barringer and wife Sandy, Phillip Emmons and wife Brenda; longtime friends, Gwen and Betty; numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Myrtle loved her family and visiting and talking with friends. She loved to cook, work in the yard and dance. Myrtle was also a charter member of the Rainbow Baptist Church.
The family would like to give a special thank you to her caretaker, Debra Laing.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Services will follow starting at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Brookside Lauder, Houston, Texas. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Rose of Texas Hospice or the charity of your choice.
