Myers Harvill, age 86 and a resident of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Saturday, September 07, 2013. Myers was born July 12, 1927 in Spurger, Texas. He was born to George W. and Clara Barbara Sands Harvill. He had six brothers and five sisters. He served his country through the United States Coast Guard. He was married to the love of his life Essie Phillips who he fondly named Sue. They were married in Silsbee, Texas. They had three children. He loved his God and his family. He never met a stranger and was a friend to all he met. He is preceded in death by his wife Essie Sue Harvill; parents; six brothers; one sister; son George Curtis (Pete) Harvill; and son-in-law Charles Cecil. Survivors include his son Chester Harvill and wife Cathleen of Cypress, Texas; daughter Debi Harvill Cecil of Whitney, Texas; ten grandchildren Amy Harvill Curlee and husband Shelby of Houston, Matthew Harvill of Brooklyn, New York, Alicia Cecil Currie and husband Louque of Baytown, Texas, Michelle Harvill Crosson of Grapevine, Texas, Leslie Harvill Russell and husband Jared of Fort Worth, Texas, Lindsay Harvill of Cypress, Texas, Brooke Harvill Hesson and husband Anthony of Houston, Texas, Joseph Harvill of Houston, Kimberly Harvill Stanford and husband William of Tyler, Texas, and Emily Cecil of Whitney, Texas; eleven great-grandchildren Jade, Jett, Jurni, Jaxon, and Jaislyn Curlee, Rebecca and Rachel Currie, Tristen Crosson, Anne Russell, Marley Harvill, and Asher Hesson. He had many nephews and nieces and numerous friends. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2013, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. James Cobb will preside over graveside services being held at Baker Bell Cemetery, Fred, Texas at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2013.
