Murl Dean Bakat

Murl Deane Bakat, 86 of Cleveland, Texas passed away Monday, April 13, 2015. She was born June 2, 1928 in Port Arthur, Texas to her parents, Lee Joseph Taylor, Sr. and Deane Snell. Murl was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland, taught Sunday school for many years and worked at Mosby Furniture for numerous years. She loved arts and crafts and spent her time painting china, making Christmas decorations, calendars, and table cloths. She is preceded in death by her parents Lee and Deane Taylor; husband, James I. Bakat, and her brother, Burl Taylor. Survivors include her sons, Johnny Bakat and his wife Kathy, and Leslie Bakat; granddaughter, Marcella Leigh Bakat; brother, Lee J. Taylor, Jr. and numerous other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home. Brother Tim Holder will preside over services held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 16, 2015 at First Baptist Church, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Pace Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens, Cleveland, Texas.
