Mitch Stuckey

Mitch Stuckey was born November 14, 1938 in Houston, Texas to parents, L.W. Stuckey Sr and Mary Aleene Simon Stuckey. He passed away December 17, 2024 in Houston, Texas at the age of 86 years. Mitch retired as a heavy equipment operator for Champion International Papers for 31 years and he served on the school board for Tarkington ISD from 2000-2004. He loved being outdoors, especially hunting and mowing his yard. Mitch also enjoyed working for Pace-Stancil Funeral Home and meeting people around the community. He was an excellent husband, daddy and Poppa. Mitch will be greatly missed by his family and the Cleveland community. 

Mitch was preceded in death by his parents, L.W. and Mary Stuckey; his beloved wife of 65 years, Lillie Bell Stuckey; daughter, Rhonda Lynn Childress; grandson, Jon Wayne Childress; brothers, Donald Stuckey, Richard Stuckey, Ernest Stuckey, and Billy Stuckey; sister, Waneta Spaingler. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Tammy Hayden and husband Blake; brothers, Baron “Pudge” Stuckey and wife Jo, Stanley Stuckey and wife Geneva; grandchildren, Justin Childress, Kevin Lindley, and Mark Lindley; great-grandchildren, Jon Childress, KayLynn Childress, Katie Childress, Lacee Lindley, Waylon Lindley, Blanton Lindley, Brycelyn Lindley, and Raelynn Lindley; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. 

Visitation will be in the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 12pm-2pm. Funeral Service will begin at 2pm with Bro. Carl Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Shade Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be, Kevin Lindley, Justin Childress, Bubba Cotie, Jon Childress, Lorre Stubblefield, and Brenden Burch.
