Minerva Cortez Glowski, 83, of Splendora, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2012, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 19, 2012, at the Splendora First Pentecostal Church, 26480 FM 2090 East, Splendora, TX 77372, with burial following at the Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens in Cleveland. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland. Minerva was born May 5, 1929 in Taylor, to parents; Crispin Cortez and Juanita Hernandez Cortez, a former resident of Galveston, and has resided in Splendora for the past 22 years. She was a member of the Splendora First Pentecostal Church, contributor to many missions and the Homeless Veteran’s Foundation, and enjoyed cooking, gardening, and church activities. Mrs. Glowski was preceded in death by her parents, and most of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband of 26 years: Dan S. Glowski of Splendora, sons: Ruben Garza of Galveston, Julius Galvan, Jr. and wife Meredith of KS, and Tony Galvan and wife Mary of Pasadena, daughters: Esther Pringle and husband John of MO, Judy Becerra of Alief, Helen Penman and husband Steve of Cypress, and Cathy Glowski of Huntsville, sister: Juanita Lamas and husband Poncho of Houston, 22 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, one great great-granddaughter, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
