HERROD
Milton Ray Herrod, age 57, of Shepherd, Texas, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at his residence after a long battle with cancer. He was born October 29, 1954 in Richmond, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his Mother: Helen Hisaw Herrod; Nephew: Collis Bill Everitt; Grandparents: Bill and Bessie Herrod, Milton and Clara Hisaw; Aunts: Lucille Janca, Dot Wyers, Dovie Sanford, Ruby Hisaw, Vera Mae Emerson; a very special Aunt: Ann Matlock; Uncles: Wilson Hisaw, Frank Hisaw, Jason “Hillbilly” Herrod.
Survivor include his Wife: Becky Ann Herrod; Father: Billy Ray Herrod; Father and Mother-in-Law: W.D. and Betty Thornton; Daughters: Stacie Fontenot and husband, Kenny, Elizabeth Atteberry and husband, Allen, Sarah Stott and husband, Kyle; Sisters: Sandy Everitt and husband, Danny, Helen Marie Johnson and husband, P.J., Tricia Gail Duke husband, Donnie, Clara Strapps and husband, Eddie, Teresa Barker and husband, Howard; Brother: Mike Hunter and wife, Pam, Grandchildren: Devin and Trevor Fontenot, Devin, Maycie and Charlsie Atteberry, Bryce and Brenden Scott; Nephews: Travis, Jodaniel and Cody Everitt, Ethan Johnson, Justin Duke, Ricky Dykes, Michael Shane, Jeremy and Tyler Hunter, Kevin Barker, Kris, Trey and Marshall Thornton, Ben Plaster, Michael James, Billy Hill, Marcus Thornton, Travis Boone; Nieces: Candy Currie, Brandi Johnson, Destiny Duke, Angie Cantrell, Bonnie Barker, Christy Hunter, April and Autumn Thornton, Heather Sumrow, Laura Ramirez, Tara Poncho, Kristen and Kerri Kirchner.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 2, 2011, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. Zack Currie and Bro. Dalton Currie will preside over funeral services being held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 03, 2011 at Pace-Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas; interment will follow at Farley Chapel Cemetery, Shepherd, Texas. Pallbearers include Devin Fontenot, Kevin Barker, Marshall Thornton, Jodaniel Everitt, Curtis Thornton, Justin Duke, Michael James, and P.J. Johnson; honorary pallbearers include Carl Landrum, Jay Knight, Raymond Sweeten, Little Joe Taylor, Dale Hill, Delbert Joyner, Doc Richards, and Josh Ward.
