Milford A. “Alan†Tucker, Sr. 95, of Dayton, died Friday, March 20, 2015, at the Bastrop Nursing Center in Bastrop, Texas. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday March 28, 2015 at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 28, 2015, at the Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton with burial following thereafter. Alan was born September 28, 1919 in Leesville, Louisiana, to parents James H. “Jim†and Delia Johnson Tucker. A former resident of Washington State, he resided in Dayton since 1985. He was a veteran of the US Army with service during WW II, a former refrigeration technician, and retired pipefitter from Shell Oil/ARCO petrochemical companies. He held memberships in the Pipefitter’s Local #211 (for 50 years), and the Nolan D. Pickett VFW Post #5621. Alan also enjoyed wood working and gardening. Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by his grandparents, George Washington and Martha Johnson; his parents; wife of 32 years, Lucille Hudgens Tucker; stepdaughter Cherie Martin; son, Raymond Tucker; eight brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his sons, Milford A. “Bud†Tucker, Jr. and wife Claudia of Cedar Creek, Texas; and John E. Tucker and wife Sarah of Bow, Washington; step children, Harvey and Linda Robinson and Butch Martin; his sister, Carrie Tucker-Corie of Galveston; cousin, Audie James of Louisiana; grandchildren, Aileena, Cindy, Sharla, Rochell, Dawn, Nicole, Daniel, and John; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
