Miles Thompkins

Miles Thompkins, 89, of Port Arthur passed away on November 7, 2017.

Mr. Thompkins was born February 25, 1928 in Hardin, Texas to parents, Adam Thompkins and Bertha Davis Thompkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruby Thompkins, daughter, Sally Ann Avila, Son Marvin Thompkins, sisters, Lillian Latson, Rose Thompkins, Girlie Jordan, Nada Scott, Annie Thompkins, and Edna Scott, brothers Eldridge Thompkins, Doc Thompkins, Britty Thompkins, and Sam Thompkins.

He is survived by his sons, Carl Thompkins, Marlon Thompkins and James Thompkins; his daughter, Deloris Thompkins; step-children, Brenda, Linda, Rose, Dorothy, David, and Joyce; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 27, 2017 at the funeral home with Rev. Benny Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Bingham Cemetery in Hardin.

Immediately following the service, the family will be gathering at Hartz Chicken in Liberty.
