Mikel Wayne Bush

Mikel Wayne Bush, age 68, of Dayton, Texas, passed away on December 17, 2024. He was born on April 11, 1956, in Viernheim, Germany, and grew up in Tarkington, Texas. Mikel was a proud graduate of the Tarkington High School Class of 1975.

Mikel was looking forward to retirement after 43 years of dedicated employment as a chemical operator with Targa Resources. Outside of work, he was passionate about golf, often spending time on the course, and he cherished moments spent with his family, particularly watching his beloved grandchildren play sports. His love for his family ran deep, and he was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends.

In addition to his family, Mikel enjoyed socializing with friends and had a strong connection to nature, always finding peace in the country. He loved narrating television shows, watching TikTok videos on his phone with the volume cranked up, and was known for his candid, outspoken support of President Donald Trump.

Mikel was preceded in death by his mother, Elli Ledbetter. He is survived by his father, Billy Joe Bush; daughters, Brandy Gordon and husband Wayne, Jessika Durant and husband Ricky; brother, Ricky Bush and wife Allison; sisters, Erica Cowell and Tammy Tennyson; and his grandchildren, Logan Gordon, Bethanie Durant, Alexis Durant, Garrett McAdams, Hailee Gordon, and Heidi Gordon.

At this time, no formal service is planned. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. All arrangements are under the direction of Pace Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas.
