Michael “Mike” Wayne Livanec was born in El Campo Texas on October 12th, 1952, and was called home and welcomed into the arms of the Lord on February 2nd, 2025. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Sandra “Sandy” Livanec and their two children, daughter Brandy Price and her husband Wayne Price and son Philip Livanec and his wife Maggie Livanec. Mike’s legacy also lives on through his three grandchildren - Austin Livanec, Brayden Price, and Easton Livanec. He was preceded in death by his parents Emil and Ella Livanec, In-Laws Don and Alva Dalton, his brother Lucian Livanec, his sister Debbie Smith, and sister-in-law Pam Mulcare. Mike is also survived by his brothers Gilbert Livanec and wife Carolyn and Allen Livanec and wife Dolores, brother-in-law Mike Mulcare, brother-in-law Tony Smith, and sister in law Donna Dalton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who hold him in loving memory. Throughout his life, Mike has been known for his love of family, his sense of humor, his hard-working nature and for his love of sports. His love for his wife and soulmate Sandy was unwavering and he was a devoted husband for over 49 years. In Mike’s career, he worked for Shell for almost 40 years. He was known for his strong work ethic and his dedication to getting the job done. When Mike retired, he often joked that he was not really retired – he said he received the best promotion life can offer: Full Time G-Pa. Mike would often be found taking weekend trips with his wife Sandy to explore new places, often times with their kids and grandkids in tow. If Mike was not on a weekend get-a-way, he loved being outdoors. Mike loved to hunt and had a knack for building projects around the house and if you did not see him outside tinkering, he was out on the tractor. He also loved cruising the neighborhood with his fur baby MeLa as co-pilot. Mike loved to play with the grandkids which led to one of our most cherished nicknames for him, Picky. He always had some sort of prank up his sleeve to keep them on their toes. We will miss the mischievous smile and laugh most of all. Mike dedicated time to his community and could often be spotted out working with neighbors throughout the neighborhood on road projects. Everyone who knew Mike will take more memories than they can count with them, until we meet him again. The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of those who have offered support and kindness as we celebrate Mike’s life.
