Michael Dee Thompson, 66, of Dayton, died Monday, September 3, 2012, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at the Houston National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Michael was born January 31, 1946 in San Angelo, to parents; Hubert E. and Seely Mae Ward Thompson, a former resident of LaPorte, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 16 years. He was a graduate of the Stephen F. Austin High School class of 1964, veteran of the US Navy, a machinist for Integrated Power Services, and member of the Open Bible Fellowship. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and most of barbecuing.
Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his parents and daughter: Tisha Chantelle Thompson. He is survived by his wife of 42 years: Serella May Thompson of Dayton, daughters: Guenitta Tangie Harclerode and husband Louis of Dayton; Seeley Harris and husband Buddy of Old River, sister: Brenda L. Boyd of Friendswood, grandchildren: Autumn Amber Curtis and husband Matt, Michael Joseph Harclerode, Coy Everett Harclerode, Kaella Chantelle Harris, and Rayna Lynnay Harris, great-grandchildren: Morgan Howard Curtis and Haylie Vane Taylor Curtis, and numerous other relatives, and friends.
