Mervine Henry “Paul” Soileau, 74, of Pasadena passed away Saturday, September 14, 2019. He was born May 19, 1945 in Eunice, Louisiana to parent Woodrow Soileau and Isabelle Olivier Soileau.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. A gathering of family and friends will be held following the service at the Dayton Masonic Lodge.
Paul grew up in Eunice, Louisiana and had been a resident of the Dayton area for many years before moving to Pasadena. He had worked as a rig welder before his retirement. Paul had been a member of the Pearland Masonic Lodge since 1973 and became a Master Mason in 1974. He also was affiliated with the Liberty Masonic Lodge and South Houston Masonic Lodge. He attended the Dayton First Assembly and was currently attending Parkgate Community Church in Pasadena.
Paul loved all thing Cajun, the food, festivals, music and visiting with his friends. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. He is survived by his children, Gregory Soileau and wife Allison, Fanci Hard and longtime partner Charles Choate, Shawn Soileau and wife Melanie, Paula Langston and husband Chris; grandchildren, Kati Bobo and husband Wesley, Sevrin Stewart and husband Hunter, Quentin Soileau, Camdon Langston and Easton Langston; one great-granddaughter, Lylith Bobo; several brothers and sisters, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
