Mercedes Rita Taylor

Mercedes R. Deshotels Taylor, 82, of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at her residence.

Memorial graveside services will be held at later date, at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Mercedes was born September 30, 1933 in Eunice, Louisiana, to parents; Oneil and Ella Fuselier Deshotels, and is a former resident of Friendswood. She was a homemaker and Catholic by faith. She also enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and sewing.

Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents, son: Baby Boy Savoy, and sister: Helen Coyle. She is survived by her husband: Clarence J. “Dutch” Taylor of Dayton, brother: Weston Deshotels of Beaumont, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
