Melvin Anthony Roberts, born on December 6, 1959, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Melvin Elbro Roberts and Ruby Jeanette Parker Roberts, passed away at his residence in Conroe, Texas on Monday, February 26, 2024. He was 64 years old at the time of his passing.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Kelli Roberts; children Jessica Nichols and Warren, Leighann Materne, Amber Rougeau and Mike, Jena Trahan and Joshua, Kacy Roberts; grandchildren Madelyn, Arren, Ava, Abbigale, Alyssa, Mason, Ethan, Joslyn, Bell, Daniel, Zoe; great-grandchildren Piper, Wyatt, Walker, Truett and Charlotte; sister Charlotte Roberts; brothers Ricky Roberts, Jerry Roberts, James Roberts, Donald Roberts; as well as mother-in-law Sue Woodard and Larry; father-in-law Woody Lusk and Amy; brother-in-law W.R. Lusk and Samantha; nephews Wyatt Lusk and Dalton Lusk.
Melvin is predeceased by his parents Melvin Elbro Roberts and Ruby Jeanette Parker Roberts; son Matthew Roberts; brother Daniel Roberts; and grandson Ian Materne.
Melvin will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He had a passion for cooking and music – displaying talents in singing and playing the guitar. Known for his jovial nature and humor that always brought laughter to those around him. Melvin enjoyed driving his big truck with a sense of humor that endeared him to other truck drivers. He especially cherished his four-legged companions along with the love shared with his wife of 14 years.
A visitation in memory of Melvin will take place at the Pace-Stancil Chapel in Cleveland on Monday March 4th from 1pm-2pm followed by a funeral service starting at 2pm officiated by Pastor Dwaine Woodard. Honorary pallbearers for the service include W.R. Lusk, Wyatt Lusk, Dalton Lusk, Jimbo Roberts, Joshua Campbell, Ricky Roberts, Jerry Roberts, Donnie Johnson, Woody Lusk, Wayne Whitaker, and Larry Woodard.
Melvin will be dearly missed but forever remembered for the joy he brought into the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
