Maudie Mozelle Hayes

Maudie Mozelle Hayes, age 89 of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Friday, June 3, 2016. She was born May 23, 1927 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to parents Bert and Maude Gilstrap Mathews who preceded her in death along with her husband of 66 years, Harrell Ray Hayes; nine sisters and two brothers.

Maudie and her husband Harrell owned and operated Shade Grocery in the Tarkington Community for 9 years.

Survivors include her daughters, Kathy Darby and husband Curtis, Karen Blum and husband David; grandchildren, Dalton Blum and wife Lauren, Sydney Blum, Colton Darby and Cameron Darby; honorary son, Guy Koenig; numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 6, 2016 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Oak Shade Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.
