Mary Sue Brown Davison, 74, of Dayton passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2020, at her home in Dayton. Sue was born May 18, 1946, in Batesville, Arkansas to parent Romus Brown and Nellie Tosh.
Mrs. Davison lived in Dayton for the past 50 years after moving from her hometown of Batesville. Sue was an active volunteer in the community and the churches where she attended, including Kenefick Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church. She was a founding member of Kenefick Southern Baptist Church where she served in many capacities. Sue also loved the outdoors. She was actively involved in the Dayton Garden Club for many years. She volunteered for the Houston Audubon Society in their High Island Sanctuaries where she greeted visitors from all over the world, helping them find and identify birds. Sue was a charter member of Lower Trinity Valley Bird Club and a charter member of the Friends of Anahuac Refuge. She was very active in their Youth Educational Program and served on their Board of Directors. Sue was a founding member of the Friends of Trinity River Refuge and served on their Board of Directors for many years.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Nelse Brown. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jerrel Davison of Dayton; her children, Carleen Bennett and husband Robert, Michaela Miller and husband Rich, David Davison and wife Monica; grandchildren, Callye Comeaux and husband Evan, Leah Bennett, Zhanna Miller, Abby Miller, Maile Davison, and Bella Davison; brother, Craig Brown and wife Donna; nieces and nephews, Christy, Jeff, Lana, Brenda, Lynn, Michelle, Suzy, Barry, Connie, Mark, and Karen.
The service for Mrs. Davison will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Day officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at Pace-Stancil. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Serving Sue as pallbearers will be Robert Bennett, Rich Miller, Mark Davison, Jeff Brown, Evan Comeaux and Dave Slate.
