Mary Alice Rocha Kirk, 75, of Dayton, Texas, passed away on January 28, 2025, in Baytown, Texas. She was born on October 18, 1949, in Gustine, California, to Ralph Rocha and Georgina Simas. Mary lived in Dayton since 1992, having previously resided in Los Banos, California.

Mary dedicated 17 years to her work with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Parole as a secretary before retiring. In her free time, she enjoyed watching sports on television, particularly cheering on the Texans, Astros, and her all-time favorite team, the San Francisco 49ers. Mary found joy in reading her Bible each night and enjoyed the mental challenge of crossword puzzles.

During her retirement, Mary loved connecting with friends online, spending hours chatting on Facebook and surfing the internet. She formed close bonds with her neighbors and had a special relationship with her pets, Taz, her dog, and Shadow, her cat.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bobby Kirk, and her brother Ralph Rocha. She is survived by her son Steven Summers, her brothers Stephen Rocha and wife Earlene, and Richard Rocha, her sisters Anita Rocha and Alma Rocha, her grandchildren Patrick Summers and Jeffrey Summers, as well as nieces, nephews, and many other family members and friends.

A visitation will be held for Mary on Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Pace Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas, with a service to follow on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., also at Pace Stancil Funeral Home. Mary will be remembered for her love of family, her kind spirit, and the joy she found in the simple pleasures of life.
