Mary Jane Allison Taff went to be with our Lord and her beloved husband, Norris, on a beautiful Father’s Day, June 15, 2014. Mary Jane was born April 16, 1930 in Houston to the late Norman and Jewel Allison. Mary Jane grew up in Liberty, Texas, graduating from Liberty High School in 1948. While attending nursing school in Houston, she met Norris Taff, the love of her life. They were married in August of 1950. Mary Jane, Norris and their children moved to Cleveland in 1961 and opened a dental practice on Bonham Street. She loved her community and her church. She served on the Cleveland ISD Board of Trustees, worked in lots of concession stands, and went to lots of games and marching contests. She was very active at St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she sang in the choir for many years. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, her parents, and her brothers, Billy and Reuben Allison. She is survived by her five children: Brenda Gardner and husband Jim; Janie Prather and husband Don; Norris Taff and wife Julie; Michael Taff and wife Kelly; and Allison Taff. Other survivors include ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; Jimmy Gardner, Jason Gardner, Alan Prather, Michael Prather, Will Taff, Amber Taff, Carson Taff, Kaylee Taff, Madison Taff, and Jackson Taff. Great-great grandchildren are Callie Gardner, Logan Klause, Emma Gardner, and Addison Gardner. Also, Jeannette Chapnick and Cynthia Allen were her loyal and loving caregivers for the past several years. Visitation will be 5:00-9:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, with Rosary beginning at 7:00 p. m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Cleveland. Father Paul will be presiding. Interment will follow at Cleveland Memorial Cemetery.
