Mary Ann Briggs Pearson, 70, of Dayton, passed away Monday, April 3, 2017, at the Kindred Hospital in Spring.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with rosary services at 7 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 8, 2017, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with burial following at Ames Catholic Cemetery in Ames. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Mary was born June 16, 1946 in Dayton, to parents; Rodis, Sr. and Ruby St. Julian Briggs, and has been a lifelong resident of Dayton. She was a graduate of Colbert High School class of 1966, a retired computer technician, and former beautician. She enjoyed cheerleading and playing sports while in high school, cooking, and gardening.
Mrs. Pearson was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 48 years: Derbe Pearson, Jr. of Dayton, sons: Derbe Pearson, III and wife Testi Williams-Pearson of Spring and Dakarai Pearson, Sr. and wife Summer of Spring, brother: Rodis Briggs, Jr. of Dayton, sisters: Leona Carter and husband David of Dayton and Eva Briggs Holmes of Dayton, grandchildren: Myles Pearson, Marqu’es Pearson, Darci Pearson, Wyllo Pearson, Dakarai Pearson, II, and Elizabeth, numerous other relatives, and friends.
