Mark Eli Monroe

February 4, 1971 — March 22, 2021

Mark Eli Monroe was born on 02/04/1971 in Oklahoma City, Ok to Janet McCorter and Jimmy Edwards. He was adopted shortly after by Sally and James Monroe where he was raised with his siblings Charmayne, Jenelle and Isaac Monroe. Mark was later taken in by Mark and Elaine Hodson where he finished high school with siblings Eric Hodson, Heather Bobb, John Monroe, and David Finch.

Mark was an Oklahoma native. He graduated from Tahlequah High School and Northeastern State University where he majored in Psychology and Mass Communications. Mark married Laura Vogel where they had 4 beautiful babies; A. Tyler, Colton, Ashlyn, and Jake Monroe.
Mark later remarried Melissa Diggs-Anglin where three more children were added to the Monroe clan; Noah Diggs-Anglin, Caleb and Luke Monroe.

Our family resided in Texas for the last 16 years calling Coldspring, Tx home. Mark passed away the morning of 03/22/2021. He is survived by his wife, Melissa and all their beautiful children; Tyler Monroe, Colton Monroe, Ashlyn Monroe, Noah and Tullina Diggs-Anglin, Jake Monroe, Caleb Monroe, and Luke Monroe. He is survived by his grandson Truett Todd Diggs-Anglin, many loved ones, and even more memories.

Mark loved his wife and kids more than anything and they knew it. He also knew how much his family loved him. Our unit was so close. He was our protecter and our biggest fan. He loved his honorary sons just as much; Todd Eaglin and Taylor Kelley. Mark left an impact throughout the community. He motivated and believed in our youth and made it easy for them to feel heard. He gave hope, belief and love. Mark loved his Oklahoma Sooners, Dallas Cowboys, and Kansas City Royals. Mark read everyday and enjoyed sharing the knowledge with anyone that would listen. He was by far the best father to our children. His heart was pure and his soul sweet. Though we know Mark is at peace, He will be truly missed.
