Marjorie “Marge” Edith Newark Davison, 91, of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at her home. She was born March 20, 1931 in the United Kingdom to her late parents, Edward Newark and Beatrice May Barber Newark.
Marge had lived in Texas since 1979 following her husband’s retirement from the US Air Force after 25 years of service. She was a member of Kenefick Southern Baptist Church and the Circle of friends at the church. Marge was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and watching the birds at the feeders she put out. She had quite the green thumb which she obviously inherited from her father who was a horticulturist. Marge loved listening to classic country music and especially enjoyed listening to Daniel O’Donnell, and she could be heard singing and humming along to her favorites in the kitchen. While Marge was on the shy side, she had a sharp wit that would have everyone laughing!
Mrs. Davison was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, John Newark and Albert Newark.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Marvin “Dave” Davison; children, Karen O’Connor and her husband, Steve, and Mark “Mad Dog” Davison and his wife Aurora; grandchildren, Kathleen Salanguit and Paul Salanguit; sisters-in-law, Peggy Newark and Janet Newark; grand-dogs, Stewie and Fred and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, with a service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jeff Day officiating. Burial will follow at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Davison, David Davison, Jerrel Davison, Hugh Bishop, Maritza Alexander, Robert Bennett and Roby Thornton.
