Marie Lyssy

Marie Lyssy was born in Votaw, Texas on May 3, 1936 to parents, Ed Moore and Myrtle Kite Moore. She passed away March 2, 2023 in Conroe, Texas at the age of 86. Marie grew up in Votaw and has lived in Conroe for over 50 years. She was a wonderful homemaker and loved to cook for the holidays. Marie loved to sew and crochet, her favorite time of years was Christmas. She loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Myrtle Moore; husband of 50 years, Ben Lyssy; son, Mirl Collins; siblings, Lenzy, Bessie, Tee, George, Buck, and Jack. She is survived by her daughter, Arleta Goodwin and fiancée Johnnie Ingram; son, Jesse Collins; brother, Claude Moore and wife Carol; grandchildren, Christal Watson and husband Trey, Milton Collins and wife Tonya, Benjamin Goodwin and girlfriend Jenny Ellinger; great grandchildren, JonRay Watson, Kindell Watson, Wyatt Watson, Megan Collins and partner Natalia, Heather Black and husband Dalton; 8 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home on Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 6-8pm. Funeral Service will be Friday, March 10, 2023 in the Pace-Stancil Chapel with Pastor Michael Nix officiating. Burial will follow in the Blue Water Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be, Dalton Black, Trey Watson, Wyatt Watson, Benjamin Goodwin, Danny Moore and Jim Moore.
