Marie Hope Fields, age 83 of Coldspring, Texas, passed away Monday, November 11, 2019. She was born June 26, 1936 in Wickes, Arkansas to parents Benjamin and Vada Lowrey who preceded her in death along with her brothers, B.H. Lowrey and Ben Lowrey; and sister, Audrey Lowrey.
Mrs. Fields was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Prior to moving to Coldspring she lived in League City for 40 years. She was a member of First Baptist Coldspring. Marie was an avid gardener and a wonderful cook. A great pastry chef, she made the best pie crust on the planet and was known for her peanut butter fudge.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Vernon Fields; daughters, Shirley Traynor and husband Doug, Susan Butler and husband Brent; brother, Quitman Lowrey; sister, Loudean Haynes; grandchildren, Stacey Skelton and husband Raymond, Dustin Traynor and wife Tonya, Kimberly Gates and husband Daniel, Jaime Tatum and husband Clay, Katie Tello and husband René, Benjamin Corbin and wife Wendi; great-grandchildren, Kaelan, Kyleigh, Danielle, Jackson, Landon, Allen, MaKenna, Laila, Tegan, Addie, Brent and one on the way; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 16, 2019 at First Baptist Church, Coldspring, Texas. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Angels in Action at First Baptist Church, Coldspring, Texas.
