Marianne “MiMi” Cooper, 49, passed away on November 20, 2023, in Syracuse, New York, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Born on June 21, 1974, in Houston, Texas, to proud parents Don Cooper and Theresa Pitts, Marianne spent her formative years in Tarkington and was a proud member of the Tarkington High School Class of 1992.

Marianne’s high school years were marked by her vibrant spirit and dedication to the arts. She was actively involved in the school band and flag corps, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of her classmates and teachers. After graduation, Marianne pursued her passion for helping others by attending and successfully completing dental assistant school. In pursuit of her dreams, Marianne moved to New York, where she lived for the past three years. Her love for family was at the center of her life, and nothing brought her more joy than spending quality time with her boys, siblings, and parents. Fondly referred to as “MiMi” by her family, she treasured moments gathered with loved ones, especially during holidays spent at her sister’s house.

The passing of Marianne is preceded by her grandparents and her son, Nathan Cooper. She is survived by her parents, David and Theresa Votaw, and Don Cooper; her beloved son, Dylan LeJeune-Votaw; and her son/nephew, Dawson Sanford, and son, Justin Gilliland. Marianne is also survived by her sisters,Christina Sanford and Lee, Angela Nadler and Tony; and her brothers, J.J. Votaw and Kristy,Thomas Votaw and Keith. She leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

The pallbearers for Marianne’s final journey include J.J. Votaw, Dylan LeJeune-Votaw, Dawson Sanford, Jonathan Sanford, Tryson Brock, and Lee Sanford. Honorary Pallbearers are Ernie Helms,Christopher Yancey, Richard Votaw, and Jacob Votaw.

A visitation to celebrate Marianne’s life will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Pace Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. The graveside service will take place at French Cemetery on Monday, November 27, 2023, at 3:00 p.m., with Dustin Sanford presiding.

As we bid farewell to a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend, let us remember Marianne for the love she shared and the joy she brought into the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
