Margaret Hilzendager

Margaret Evelyn Hilzendager, 85, went home to be with the Lord on November 30th, 2024. Margaret was born to proud parents William Harrell and Beatrice Johnson Harrell on May 7th, 1939 in Houston, Texas. 

In her early years, Margaret attended Coldspring High School, and it is here she met the love of her life, Joe Hilzendager. Joe and Margaret went together for 3 years, then were married on July 17th, 1957. This was just the start of a wonderful marriage that lasted 64 years. Throughout her life, Margaret was involved in a variety of activities, including teaching Sunday School at Carlisle Baptist Church. She was a very talented individual and loved to paint wildlife scenery, write poetry and stories, and tend to her flowers in her garden. 

Margaret will be missed dearly by all that knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Beatrice Harrell; brothers, Andrew Harrell, Charles Harrell; sister, Martha Hodges. 

Margaret is survived by her beloved husband, Joe “Sonny” Hilzendager; sisters-in-law, Gayle Darlene Currie and husband Ray Currie, Shirley Hilzendager; nephews, Andy Harrell, Johnny Harrell, Danny Harrell, Charlie Harrell, Mitchell Hodges, Jeff Currie, Clint Hilzendager; nieces, Sheila Hurd, Teresa Johnson, Susan Johnson, Renee Hilzendager; caregiver and special friend, Tina McKinney; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends

A visitation for Margaret will be held at Point Blank Community Church in Point Blank, Texas on Tuesday, December 3rd from 10 am - 11 am. The funeral service will begin at 11 am at Point Blank Community Church, with John MacDonald officiating. The burial will immediately follow at Mount Zion Cemetery in Stephens Creek, Texas. Serving as pallbearers will be Andy Harrell, Johnny Harrell, Danny Harrell, Charlie Harrell, Mitchell Hodges, Jeff Currie, and Jeffrey Currie.
