Mae Bell Sain Cox, 96, of Dayton, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016, at the Liberty Healthcare Center in Liberty.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, with graveside services to be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the Earthman Resthaven Cemetery in Houston. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
Mae Bell was born December 13, 1919, in Quinlan, TX, to parents; James E. and Nona Mae Hall Sain. A former resident of Houston, Mae Bell has resided in Dayton since 1972. She was a homemaker, and formerly worked for the Atkinson Candy Kitchen, the agriculture, hotel, and tourism industries. She also enjoyed quilting, flowers, gardening, and painting.
Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Arthur Elton Cox and Woodrow Cox, brothers: Albert, Tommy, Parnell, Raymond, Eddie, Delman, and Coy Sain, sister: Ruby Jo Holland, and daughter-in-law: Katherine Cox. She is survived by her daughter: Carolyn Youngmeyer and husband Jim of Houston, son: Albert Cox of Dayton, brother: Glen Sain and wife Jan of Quitman, sisters: Louise Hinson of Maypearl, Ina Fay Gillespie of Kaufman, and Wanda Jo Pirkle of Shenandoah, grandchildren: Steve Cox and wife Kelly, David Cox and wife Gretchen, and Allen Sackett, great-grandchildren: Ashton Cox, Garrett Cox, Lauren McCrary and husband Ryon, Joshua Cox, and Erin Cox, great great-grandchildren: Keeley and Jackson Gunn, Sadie McCrary, and one on the way, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
