Lynda Ilene Lawrence Bass

Lynda Ilene Lawrence Bass, 63 of Crosby, died Saturday, July 31, 2010 at home after an extended illness.   She was born June 2, 1947 in Hemphill, Texas to parents George Hershal & Abbietine McGowan Lawrence.  She had lived in Crosby for the past 20 years and was a member of the Christian Tabernacle in Houston where she enjoyed participating in their activities.  She kept her spirits high through her long battle with cancer.  Lynda enjoyed traveling and antiques but will most be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  Services for Mrs. Bass will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 2, 2010 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Dayton.   Interment will follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery, Dayton.   Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.   Mrs. Bass was preceded in death by her parents, daughter:  Sandra Bass, grandson:  Anthony Bass, and her sisters:  Rita Gonzales, Marie Waldrop, and Betty Langlie.   She is survived by her husband of 48 years: Carl Davis Bass of Crosby; daughters:  Loretta Alexander of Baytown and Angela Gill and husband Eric of Crosby; son:  David Bass and wife Sondra of Baytown; sisters:  Ida Johnston of Friendswood, Francis Tinch of Lufkin, and Evelyn Wilkerson and husband Tom of Dallas; brother:  Gail Lawrence and wife Rosie of Lufkin; grandchildren:  Bryan, Christopher, Mathew, and Shalissa Bass, Jared Walsingham, Joshua, Hailey & Hannah Alexander, Kalon and Shelby Gill; great-granddaughter:  Angelia Bass; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
