Luis “Rico” Suarez Rico, 60, of Dayton, died Saturday, July 10, 2010, at the Methodist Hospital in Houston. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with burial following at Palms Memorial Park Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday; with rosary services at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Luis was born August 28, 1949 in Jerecuaro, Guanajuato, Mexico, to parents; Jose G. and Consuelo Suarez Rico, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 30 years. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Taylor Pipeline after 14 years of employment, member of St. Josephs Catholic Church, and enjoyed fishing, carpentry, and visiting with friends and family. Mr. Rico is survived by his wife of 32 years: Ignacia Cervantes Rico of Dayton, daughters: Lucy Bowen and husband Tommy of Cleveland, Blanca Gonzalez and husband Gerardo of Dayton, Maribel Rico of Dayton, and Christa Rodriguez and husband Jose of Dayton, son: J. R. Salazar and wife Shaunna of Kenefick, parents: Guadalupe and Consuelo Rico of Mexico City, sisters: Amalia, Griaciela, Irene, Marta, Rosa, and Guillermina Rico Suarez all of Mexico, brothers: Ruben Rico of Huffman, and Everardo, Santiago, and Jorge Rico all of Mexico, grandchildren: Cristian and Ashtyn Contreras, Lauren Bowen, Jocelyn and Tony Olivares, Ethan and Gerry Gonzalez, Hailey and David Salazar, and Joel Rodriguez, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
