Lucy Dee Massengale, age 90, of Magnolia, Texas, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in The Woodlands. Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 15, 2011, 10:00 a.m. at Ryan Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas. Honorary pallbearers include Robert E. Burns Jr., Troy Burns, Robert E. Burns III, Troy Burns Jr., Kevin Thomas, and Zachary Davis. Lucy Massengale was born December 23, 1920 in Cleveland, Texas to parents, Terrell Louis and Julia Tanner who preceded her in death. She was Baptist in faith and found great joy in cooking, gardening, fishing, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered lovingly. Survivors include her daughters, Peggy Fisher and spouse Al, Julie Thomas and spouse, Jim; sons, Robert E. Burns and spouse Sally, Eldin R. Burns and spouse Diane; grandchildren, Robert E. Burns Jr., Troy Burns, Kevin Thomas, Zachary Davis; great-grandchildren, Robert E. Burns III, Chelsea Burns, Troy Burns Jr., Tye Ann Burns, Kaycie Burns, Charlie Ann Burns, Emily Thomas, Bennett Thomas, and Katherine Thomas; and many faithful friends.
