Lucille Bell Baker, 92, of Dayton, died Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 18, 2014 with graveside services at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at the Houston National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Pallbearers will be Darren Baker, Rodney Baker, Roger Baker, Michael Baker, Aaron Mattix, Jeffrey Eckerman, Billy Wilson, Sammy Wilson. Lucille was born December 8, 1921 in Brookland, to parents; Oliver and Annie B. Polley Bell, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in Dayton for the past 13 years. She was a graduate of the Jasper High School, a homemaker, and attended the Simmons Bottom Assembly of God Church. She also enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sewing, and embroidery. Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her husband: George Baker, father: Oliver Bell, mother: Annie Polley Bell, grandsons: Craig Baker and Derek Brown, four sisters, and five brothers. She is survived by her daughters: Floyce Ann Wilson of Dayton, Naomi Cowart of Colmesneil, Lawana Patty of Dayton, Lucy Eckerman of Houston, and Mary Plaehn of Porter, sons: Rudolph Baker of Houston, Floyd Baker of Arkansas, James Baker of Arkansas, and Lonnie Baker of Arkansas, grandchildren: Rudy Baker, Rodney Baker, Roger Baker, Susan Cochran, Darren Baker, Steven Merrick, Billy Wilson, Sammy Wilson, Tami Mann, Aaron Mattix, Stephanie Burnitt, Michael Baker, Bunnie Rudy, Dana Harwell, and Jeffrey Eckerman, 33 great-grandchildren, five great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
