Lou Ve Rae Lund, age 78, of Splendora, Texas, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014. She was born June 13, 1935, in Union Center, South Dakota, to parents Joseph and Irene Hackett Springer, and was a graduate of Spearfish High School, Class of ‘53, Spearfish, South Dakota. Mrs. Lund retired from a career in craft and fabric sales and was a baker for an independent caterer. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Cleveland, Texas; and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and spending time with--and especially cooking for—her beloved family. Mrs. Lund was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, her husband of 29 years, Lawrence Lund, Jr., and infant son. Survivors include her daughters, Lynda Lund, DeeAnn White and husband, Richard, Kathi Ulbig and husband, Mike, and Barbara Lund; brothers, Dwayne Wendell and wife Linda, Charles Wendell, Gary Wendell and wife, Karen; sister, Rene Francoviglia and husband, Nick; grandchildren, Bradley, Nikole, Angelé, Brandon, Briana, Courtney, and Christina; great-granddaughter, Marley Dakota; numerous nieces, nephews, and other treasured family members and friends. A Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 03, 2014, with a Memorial Mass following at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 702 E. Houston St., Cleveland, Texas, with Father Vincent presiding.
