Lois Ann Turner, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 3, 2016, in Summerville, South Carolina. She was born January 28, 1930, in Lebanon, Tennessee to John Sanders Tomlinson and Sophie Bingham Tomlinson Moseley. Lois was a selfless woman who dedicated her life to the Lord, and her family. Whether you knew her as Mom, Mawmaw, Aunt Lois, or Mrs. Turner, she was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
She received an Education Degree from Middle Tennessee State University. She taught Kindergarten for one year before taking on the role as a stay at home mom for the next 24 years. She then moved on to work alongside her husband, Harold Turner. They owned and operated a Western Auto store for 32 years in Cleveland, TX. Her greatest accomplishment in life was when she married Harold in 1951! Lois was always very involved in her church. She was a member of the Women’s Missionary Union, a Girls in Action leader, and gave several scholarships for students to attend church camp. She had such a giving and serving spirit. She was truly dedicated to her family and was most happy when she was surrounded by them all.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Gunter and husband Wayne; grandchildren, Julia White and husband Nathan, Jonathan Gunter, Joel Gunter, Kandice Weaver and husband Mike, Carrie Stefanick and husband Jason, Deborah Schramm and husband Brian, Jennifer Flaherty and husband Patrick; great grandchildren, Noah Gunter, Elijah, Ezekiel, and Naomi Weaver, Saylor, Jack, and Hope Stefanick, and Sawyer and Parker Flaherty; Siblings, Billy Moseley and Judy Darder. She also leaves behind numerous other friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Turner, father John Sanders Tomlinson, mother Sophia Moseley, brother Ronnie Moseley, sister Marilyn Moseley and her daughter, Sandra Kirkham.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, 303 E. Crockett St., Cleveland, Texas. Funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 10, 2016 at First Baptist Church, 400 W. Hanson, Cleveland, Texas
