Lois Eagan Cheadle, 91, of Sulphur, LA, died Sunday, January 22, 2012 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at the Coldspring United Methodist Church with burial following at the Oakwood Cemetery in Coldspring. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Coldspring. Lois was born August 19, 1920 in Pawhuska, OK, to parents; William L. and Margaret Crowley Eagan, a former resident of Coldspring, and has resided in Louisiana for the past eight years. She was a high school graduate, a former paralegal during WW II, member and former Sunday school teacher of the Coldspring United Methodist Church, and a lone girl scout. She also enjoyed dancing, music, crafts, and reading. Mrs. Cheadle was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years: John Cheadle, daughter: Elizabeth A. “Betty” Wright, parents: William L. and Margaret Crowley Eagan, and brother: Frank Otis Eagan. She is survived by her daughters: Mary Harrell and husband Frank of Lake Charles, LA and Sharon Sue Lyons and husband Kenneth, PhD. of Lebanon, NJ, grandchildren: Joyce Lynn Raymer, Col. Michael A. Wright, Maj. William C. Wright, Dr. Robert A. Wright, James P. Lyons, Anita C. Lyons, Maj. John L. Harrell, Dr. Brian R. Harrell and Kristen M. Harrell, great-grandchildren: Sgt. Devin Raymer, Joshua Raymer, Garrett Raymer, Braeden Wright, Michael Tyler Wright, Rachel Wright, Andrew John Harrell, and Paige Ava Harrell, great great-grandchild: Scout Molly Raymer, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In lieu of usual floral remembrances the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the U.S.O., in Mrs. Cheadle’s name.
