Linda Wilcher, a cherished member of the Dayton community, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on January 9, 1951, in Kerrville, she brought beauty and creativity to the world through her work as a floral designer.
Linda was a devoted mother to her children, Kristy Barker and her husband James, and Leon Wilson, II and his wife Amber. She took great joy in her role as a Memaw, nurturing her grandchildren Kodi Casey, Austin Barker, Carson Wilson, and Chase Wilson with love and affection. Linda is also survived by her brother Kenneth Barrett and his wife Darlene, her sister Jean Rigby and her husband Mike, and her special niece Sharron Bishop. She also held her sister-in-law Patricia Bareis in high regard.
Throughout her life, Linda found fulfillment in her faith as a member of Journey Fellowship Church in Dayton. She was an active participant in the Dames of Dayton, where she contributed her time and energy to support others in her community. Her passions extended beyond her work and church involvement; she enjoyed doing crafts, designing floral arrangements, fishing, indulging in soap operas, and spending time at the beach.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband, Frankie Wilcher, as well as her parents, Roland Barrett and Beatrice Little Barrett. She also mourned the loss of her brothers David "Red" Barrett and Gerald "Bull Frog" Barrett, and her sister Shirley Canfield.
The community will come together to honor Linda's life during visitation on February 12, 2025, from 5 PM to 7 PM at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, located at 1304 N Cleveland St, Dayton, TX. A funeral service will be held the following day, February 13, 2025, beginning at 10 AM, also at the same location officiated by Rev. Howie Howeth.
Honoring her as pallbearers will be Kodi Casey, Austin Barker, Lee Bishop, Jimmy O'Quinn, Ray O'Quinn and Todd Fregia. Honorary pallbearers will be Carson Wilson, Chase Wilson, Lonnie Ratcliff, Michael Paine, Coy Paine, Cash Paine and Cohl Paine.

Linda Wilcher will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Her spirit will live on in the lives she touched and the memories cherished by those who loved her.
