Linda S. Merrell Oliver, 63, of Dayton, died Monday, July 1, 2013, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 6, 2013, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Linda was born March 15, 1950 in San Benito, to parents; Robert A. Merrell and Lucille Overton, a former resident of Sheldon, and has resided in Dayton for the past 19 years. She attended the San Jacinto Community College, owner of Linda’s Dog Grooming in Dayton and Sheldon, and member of the First Baptist Church of Sheldon. She also assisted in the Sheldon area little league and booster organizations, and was an art instructor. Linda enjoyed caring for animals, art, music, cake decorating, and sports. Mrs. Oliver was preceded in death by her sister: Sandra Merrell. She is survived by her husband of 35 years: Leland T. Oliver of Dayton, children: Steed Kelley of Palestine, Dionne (Oliver) Hiebert and husband David of Lago Vista, James Kelley and wife Penny of Spring, Chance Oliver and wife Blanca of Plano, Cable Oliver and wife Sarah of Cypress, and Michael Oliver and wife Pam of McKinney, father: Robert A. Merrell and wife Daisy of Los Fresnos, mother: Lucille Overton Hyronimus of Dayton, brothers: Robert Merrell of Dayton and Albert Merrell of FL, 15 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
