Linda Marie Sackett

Linda Marie Sackett, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2024, at the age of 77 in New Caney, Texas. Linda's journey began on January 6, 1947, in Corpus Christi, Texas, where she was born to her parents, Arthur Henry Brooks and Marie Elizabeth Cantrell Brooks. Growing up in the heart of Texas, Linda cherished her roots and carried the warmth and spirit of her Texan heritage throughout her life.

For the past two decades, Linda made her home in New Caney alongside her devoted husband of 58 years, Charles Sackett. Their enduring love was a testament to commitment and companionship, enriching each other's lives with shared memories and unwavering support.

Linda dedicated over a decade of her life working at the Richmond State School, where her compassionate nature shined brightly, leaving a lasting impact on those she served. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond the workplace, touching the lives of her family, friends, and beloved pets, Mia and Maxie.

An avid gardener, Linda found solace in nurturing life and beauty through her blossoming gardens. She delighted in the simple joys of shopping and cooking, sharing her culinary creations with those she held dear. From a young age, Linda's passion for painting blossomed into a love for all crafts, with crocheting holding a special place in her heart.

Music was a source of joy for Linda, with country melodies resonating deeply within her soul. She cherished family camping trips in Texas and Colorado, treasuring each moment spent surrounded by nature and loved ones. Yet, whether embarking on grand adventures or sharing quiet moments at home, Linda found fulfillment in the presence of her cherished family.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Harold Brooks, Floyd Cecil Brooks, Wayne Brooks, Richard Mark Brooks; sisters Charlotte Ann Brooks, Geneva Odom, and Minnie Irene Brooks.

Linda's memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband, Charles Sackett; her sons, Scott A. Sackett and Charles C. Sackett and his wife Allison Cartwright; her daughters, Michele M. Sackett and Cindi A. Mechura and husband John; her sister Sharon Soileau and husband Dirk, her special grandchildren, Stephen, Samantha, Sterling, Madeleine, Sarah, Alexandra, Charles; along with numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
