Lillian Elizabeth Adlong Reed, 84, of Kenefick, passed away June 14, 2016, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Saturday, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 18, 2016, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with services concluding thereafter.
Lillian was born July 6, 1931 in Crosby, to parents; George Frank and Albina Antonio Vyoral Adlong, and lifelong resident of the Kenefick and Toledo Bend area. She was a graduate of the Crosby High School class of 1950, received her Bachelor’s degree in nursing from St. Joseph’s Nursing School, and was a former head nurse for the Dayton Memorial Hospital. She also enjoyed painting, crocheting, quilting, fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, and cooking.
Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Louis Cecil “L.C.” Reed, Sr., sons: Leslie and Lloyd Reed, brothers: Clarence Adlong and Kenneth Adlong and wife Kathy, and in-laws: Chester and Mattie Tom Reed. She is survived by her daughter: Sharon Parker and husband Robert O. of Galveston, sons: Larry Reed and wife Jerrilynn of Kenefick and Louis Cecil Reed, Jr. and wife Mitzi of Kenefick, brother: George F. Adlong, Jr. and wife Ann of Baytown, sister: Joyce Prescott and husband Tobe of Crosby, daughter-in-law: Bev Reed, sister-in-law: Dolores Adlong, grandchildren: Amber Parker, Ariel Ackerman, Ivy Thomas and husband Rame, Rachel Arnold and husband Wes, and Kelsey Reed, six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
