Leslie Albert Buchanan Jr., age 79 and a resident of Houston, Texas, passed away August 21, 2013. He was born June 10, 1934 in Conroe, Texas to parents Leslie Albert and Letha Lorraine Buchanan who preceded him in death along with his first wife Patricia Ann Buchanan; sister Lorraine Phillips; grandson Nicholas Earnest; niece Barbara Phillips; and his best friend Johnny Jenkins. Survivors include wife Sherry Jean Buchanan; son Charles Robert Buchanan; and daughter Terry Lyn Buchanan; grandchildren Christopher Lee McDowell, Jeremiah Patrick McDowell, and Audrey Rene Buchanan; one great-grandchild Eva Rose Earnest; nephew Johnny Phillips; nieces Brenda Cook, Sarah Gibson, and Lisa Corvelle; step-son Eric Griffin; step-grandson Ian Griffin; step-granddaughter Sarah Griffin. Visitation will be held Friday, August 23, 2013, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home. Bro. Carl Williamson will preside over funeral services being held Saturday, August 24, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel with interment following at Farley Chapel Cemetery, Shepherd, Texas. Pallbearers include Charles Buchanan, Christopher McDowell, Jeremiah McDowell, and Eric Griffin; honorary pallbearers include Lamar Sutton, Jack Sutton, and R.D. Stanley.
