Leonard Stephens

Leonard Stephens, age 59, of Shepherd, Texas, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2011. He was born October 22, 1951 in Cleveland, Texas to Herman and Mary Gladys Stephens who preceded him in death along with his sons, Stewart Stephens and Kenny Stephens; and his sister, Linda Rogers. Leonard was a fireman employed by the Houston Fire Department as well as Fire Marshall for San Jacinto County. He served our country in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne during the Vietnam era from 1971 to 1973. He leaves behind his daughter, Dana Hamman and husband, Robbie; grandchildren, Triston Hamman (14), Kevin Stephens (14), Korra Stephens (14); nephew, Kirk Rogers; niece, Kristin Barnett; and many other cherished family members and treasured friends beyond measure. Visitation will be held Sunday evening, January 9, 2011, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. Carl Williamson will preside over funeral services being held Monday, January 10, 2011, 10:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment following at Squire Cemetery. Pallbearers include Dusty Adams, Bo Adams, Chase Adams, Jody Simpson, John Pennington, and Kirk Rogers.
