Lena Marie Whitley Butcher, 78, of Dayton, passed away on April 28, 2021. Lena was born in Houston, Texas, on November 17, 1942, to parents James Earl Whitley, Sr. and Mildred Sackett McCoy.
Lena was a longtime resident of Dayton. She was a devoted mother and housewife. She enjoyed collecting angels and Indian figurines. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mrs. Butcher was preceded in death by her parents and her stepdad, Ray McCoy, her sister Mary Snider, her great-grandson Kai Koen and great-granddaughter Payton Wooden. She is survived by her husband, Gene Butcher; sons, Clayte Sebek and wife Cindy, Rick Sebek and wife Laura, George W. Butcher and wife Kerri; daughters, Sandra Sebek Thomas and husband Jeff and Carolyn Butcher Fielder; sister, Cathy Roundtree; brothers, James Earl (Buddy) Whitley and Tony Whitley; 20 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and her lifelong friend, Sharon Stanford.
Service for Lena will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 2, 2021, at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with Rev. Jimmy Charles officiating. Interment will follow at Linney Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Sunday.
