Lenhart J. “Len†Janik, Jr., 55, of Dayton, died Monday, February 24, 2014, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 1, 2014, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home with burial following at Eastgate Catholic Cemetery in the Eastgate community. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Len was born May 14, 1958 in Dayton to parents; Lenhart J. Sr. and Louise G. Zalesak Janik, and was a lifelong resident of Dayton. He was a graduate of the Dayton High School class of 1977, a mechanic for numerous chemical plants, and member of St. Anne Catholic Mission, the Honey Island Hunting Club, and the Hillbilly Deluxe Cooking Team. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and cook-offs. Mr. Janik was preceded in death by his father: Lenhart J. Janik, Sr. and mother: Louise G. Zalesak Janik. He is survived by his wife of 35 years: Brenda K. Butler Janik of Dayton, sons: Christopher Janik and fiancé Kayla Naquin of Atascocita and Jeffrey Janik and wife KrisAnn of Dayton, daughter: Amanda Janik and husband Billy Noey of Normangee, granddaughter: Haven Noey, along with one grandchild on the way, sisters: Candy Rucka of Dayton, Cookie Johnson and wife Angela of Dayton, and Lenette Janik of Dayton, brothers: Johnny Janik and wife Kathy of Alaska and James "Butch" Janik of Oregon, nephews: Shane Butler and wife Tina and Ryan Rucka and wife Jessica, along with numerous other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
