Leland Thomas Daniels

July 15, 1960 — July 26, 2016

Leland Daniels, 56, was born July 15, 1960 in Big Spring, Texas. He passed away July 26, 2016 at his residence in the arms of his loving wife after a 24 month battle with brain cancer.

Mr. Daniels is survived by his wife of 27 years: Pamela Lostak Daniels of Dayton; daughter: Shawnda Daniels Jackson and husband Dwayne of Mont Belvieu; son: Logan Daniels and companion Kayla Scott of Baytown; grandchildren: Dakota, Sidney and Cole Jackson of Mont Belvieu; parents: Melvin and Marie Daniels of Big Spring; sister: Laurie Shryack and husband Bart of Leander; also numerous other relatives and friends.

Leland graduated from Big Spring High School in 1978 and was a proud member of the Meistersingers. He was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church while growing up in Big Spring, and also attended Howard Junior College before beginning his life-long career with Total Petrochemicals Research and Development (formerly Fina). Shortly thereafter, he transferred to the Deer Park location where he retired May 1st of this year after 37 years of service. While working in R&D, Leland received several patent licenses and was highly regarded amongst his peers.

Leland's hobbies simply included his kids. One of his proudest moments was when he legally adopted his daughter, who came into his life when marrying Pam. Leland moved his new family to Kenefick in 1991 so they could experience the country life that he grew up in. There were many father-daughter road trips throughout the state competing in livestock shows which included sheep and swine. Leland's second proudest moment was when his son was born. His son showed an interest in the 'show ring' at a very early age, but leaned more towards baseball, so then came numerous father-son road trips throughout the gulf coast states competing in select baseball.

The family will receive friends from 4pm - 6pm Friday, July 29, 2016 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home for a viewing and visitation, immediately followed by the memorial service. At the conclusion of the service, everyone is invited and encouraged to attend a fellowship dinner being held at the Kenefick Civic Center.

In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to American Brain Tumor Association by calling (866) 659-1030 or going online to http://www.abta.org
